recycling ice cream sticks - the finale

I guess you remember part 1:

 sanding the glue laminated sticks

then the painting starts , I used acrylic paint.

just simple ornaments,  this is going to be a gift for a lovely girl of a bit more than 3 years.

afterwards each backside gets a strip of magnetic tape

voila`.... the magnetic refrigerator Domino is finished!

making this was so funny, .....(and there are development potentialities !)

the next ice cream season is certain to come!

crafting project....upcycling ice creme sticks (popcicle sticks) Part 1

Far away from collecting every stick during the summer, many of them move to the dishwasher, and afterwards into the material stock.
Over the years it adds up to a real big stack, and christmas is around the corner....so I had the idea for a cool crafting project:

to boost the excitement, for now just the start...(in fact I´m a very lazy blogger at the moment, and so I can make more out of this simple undertaking)
Seriously I´m unsure about some essential ingredients yet, and it can take some time to post step 2.

Stay tuned, and have a great weekend

Friday facets - Essigbaum - staghorn sumac

I´m sure all of you know this tree: In the 60´s you hardly were able to find a garden without this bush.

Friends of mine cut one . I saw the beautiful colored grain, and crabbed a few branches.

..sanded and polished with olive oil

I have no idea what to do with these, maybe buttons, brooches, pendants, coasters for the doll house, ...a shim, when the chair has a wobble,  keyrings.....or just place it on the table as a mandala to enjoy the eye.

This is a new blog hop, created by Susanne Guirakhoo, if you like to join, share your friday facets.

...too late for this years christmas,

almost forgot to roll out this "how to use scrap from wood flooring" post!
Not really a tutorial, but maybe an inspiration.

a cheer for tailor´s chalk .......universally usable....here for marking the pegs!

wood glue and clamps and drying time needed after this!

crimping and rasping to avoid the tea light slipping away
same here , rasped little jags to avoid slipping

Merry X-mas!
Don´t forget to eat and drink too much!..(otherwise there would be no reason to think about discipline and make new years resolutions! )

Making a foot reflexology board which can be used as a decoration object..

...or making a decoration object, which can be used as a foot reflexology board .

I bought some big beechwood globes at the hardware store, and also lots of smaller half spheres.
the major part of work is to split the spheres into half spheres, because it has to be done by hand
Fortunately the smaller half spheres are available in arts and crafts shops.

 ..sanding
Then I drilled little holes and put nails into them
the nailheads have to be clipped off

 ..wood glue on it
..and carefully hammered onto the board

finished! ...it can be treated with natural wood oil, also the edges could do with a little sanding..
on the underside I will affix foamed rubber or felt .
...........like barefoot walking on a pepple beach...
I had the idea a few years ago, and both boards I made then are loved by their owners!
I think I will keep this one
