Some things don´t change

Some things don´t change : the same kitchen calendar since approx. 30 years in our home!
First as a gift from the local shoemaker, then owing to the slack demand the local shoemaker had to close his business (which belongs to the things that unfortunately changed!)
I was so used to this calendar.......so I´m happy you can buy it still.

Let´s see what 2013 will bring to us !

Cocktail Ring

Back from a few days trip to Istria , to the beaches of holey stones !

Found time to take first steps in reading english with this book!  ( I knew the stories, which made it easier)..

And I had the opportunity to admire mother nature as a very talented jewelry designer!

I only had to enlarge the hole with another stone...and you are all set for the formal reception in Buckingham Palace!

Olive oil and aching muscles !

Back from one week in crete....(which is far too short!!!)

We made a mountain hike through " Samaria canyon " ...( If you ever make this tour you hopefully wear better shoes than I did ! )

Anyway a great experience!

Also brought a copious supply of that wonderful cretan olive oil !

Summer - dilemma....

..should I prune the ivy and the climbing hydrangea ?

The red currants and the gooseberries are mellow !

One could make cakes and other delicious things ....

The bright sunlight makes your windows and curtains beg for a big house cleaning,

...and lots of ideas for creating to stick you to your workspace all the day!

It´s Pub garden time, time for swimming, hiking and ride the bike !

So many activities ....and the winter is long in our country!

I have to set priorities

Ok, I think I most likely can exclude the house cleaning!

Duftwicken - sweet peas, they smell delicate!

my first tomato - experiment, I´m really proud of this..

..and happy that the snails reprieved my basilikum which is flourishing this year!

She´s happy with some lettuce and lives free in our garden during the summer, there are walls around, so she cannot rebush, ..during winter she takes a big nap in a cozy box on the attic !

Bicycle fascination!

Short trip to Amsterdam.....

Four days are far too short time to discover all the lovely and interesting places of this charming town! ......we´ll be back....!
I totally loved the creative way they use their bicycles!

That was onTuesday! Unbelievable crowd of orange decorated fans to welcome the returned soccer team! ........It´s been a madhouse here on sunday!

Swan family....

What a surprise looking out of my window!

3 swan-babies and their mother are grazing .....We have always swans here at the danube, but these are the first newly hatched I see!
Had to take a picture. Mama Swan was not overly exited about, so I better took to my heels

insured parcel from Europe to USA

To send a parcel insured with declared valuation , it must be sealed......... I never did that before, and it was not so easy to find how to do....(and I hope I did it the right way!)

After taking the picture I made 3 more seals (and put an address on of course)....nevertheless, the post office accepted it !

Holes in Stones 3rd.....

I found out the holes are made definitely by living organism!
They live in and from the limestone.
alas I only found a german version, but the Pictures tell the Story as well.....click here

Holes in Stones....

I have been in Croatia, Istria, for some days.....

and as always I could not resist to pick up several stones at the beach!
I love the bizarre form of these "wormy" stones . The holes are made by living organismn, but I

must confess that I don´t know exactly who`s the causer. Maybe anybody knows....would be great if anyone living by the sea could give an answer ?

...I also found some sepia backs and thought of ossa-sepia-cast.....we will see...

If you like to participate in Paper doll project you can download the drawing on her blog..of course I had to make a "Bead Dress" ....zoom the pics to see the beads closer.

fresh from the garden, wash , chop, pour over with boiled water, leave 5 minutes to draw, ready!.......I drink 3 cups a day during 2-4 weeks!
